Joe obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Michigan – Dearborn and graduated with distinction and Psychology Honors.  He obtained a Master of Social Work Degree from Wayne State University and has been a member of the National Association of Social Workers.  Prior to his time at Perspectives of Troy, Joe was a clinical therapist at a Community Mental Health agency in Detroit where he worked with foster children and adopted children, as well as with the general population.

Joe has been with Perspectives of Troy since 2012.  Joe is passionate about learning and growing within the profession and is a member of the Perspectives Peer Utilization Review committee at Perspectives.  In 2017, Joe joined the Executive Committee at Perspectives and became the Director of Anger and Behavioral Management.  His dedication to the field and to the community can be seen through his connection with his clients and colleagues.

Joe’s primary experience has been with children, adolescents, and families, however, Joe has experience working with adults of all ages as well.  In addition to his individual work, Joe also hosts the popular Anger and Behavioral Management series of groups and workshops for children, adolescents, adults and parents.

When not at work, Joe enjoys being a husband and father.  Joe is an avid sports enthusiast and die-hard fan of the University of Michigan and Detroit Red Wings.  Joe also enjoys an eclectic taste in music and enjoys playing the guitar.
