Name:  Mary Costa
License:  LMSW
Degree:  Masters of Social Work
Specialties:  Children, Adolescents and Adults

Mary has been working in the social work field for a number of years. When she began her educational career, she was unsure of the career path she would choose for her life until she was empowered by professionals within the mental health field.  Two years into college, she knew in her heart that helping others to overcome emotional barriers was where she wanted to be.  She finished her masters degree and started her first job working with traumatized youth on the West side of Detroit.  She has grown since then and realized that outpatient mental health is where she could best fulfill her purpose as a professional working to positively impact the lives of others.

As a licensed therapist on the masters level, she specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with experience in helping children, adolescents, and adults struggling with hardships on every level.  She has worked primarily with at-risk youth ages 5-18, adults with severe anxiety and depression, survivors of domestic violence, and individuals with developmental disabilities.  She strives to provide a therapeutic environment that is filled with feelings of safety.  Within this environment, she will work with you to understand emotions, reflect on areas of distress, and uncover strategies that will assist in overall contentment and stability.
