Biographical Information:
Pearl Stewart obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Community Relations from Michigan State University. She felt called to work with those struggling with Substance Abuse issues. Upon graduation, Pearl continued to work in the Substance Abuse field in Flint, MI. Interested in the intersection of the Christian Faith, brain and behavior, she pursued a graduate degree. Pearl obtained her Masters of Arts in Pastoral Counseling at Loyola University of Chicago. During her internship, she served those affected by Severe and Persistent mental illness in a Community Mental Health agency and those affected by chronic illness in a Rehabilitation Setting. Upon graduation, Pearl moved back to Detroit and worked with runaway and homeless youth, Adjudicated youth, and the Severely Mentally Ill population on the East Side of Detroit.

Pearl feels specifically called to work with women, adolescents (typically ages 14 and older) as well as adults. While Pearl has an eclectic and adaptive treatment approach, she is open and willing to incorporate the client’s Christian beliefs in the session. She also believes in a multi-modal treatment approach and believes in “leaving no stone unturned” in her efforts in providing evidenced-based strategies and techniques for her clients.

Pearl is an esteemed member of the Michigan Mental Health Counselors Association and the American Association of Christian Counselors and has served on the Bridge2Access Advisory Committee of Molina Healthcare. When she’s not at work, Pearl enjoys spending time with her husband and family, Mario Kart and singing.
